About a month ago,\u00a0 I was contacted through my website by a young woman who had seen this painting in the lobby of Lahey Hospital in Peabody,\u00a0 MA.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She was hoping that I was the artist.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I was indeed the artist,\u00a0 and delighted to learn that her family had been enjoying this painting for some time during her father’s\u00a0 medical treatment at Lahey.<\/p>\n

Shortly after that,\u00a0 her Mother contacted me.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She had been trying to find me for four and a half years!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Her husband,\u00a0 now deceased,\u00a0 was also a painter and absolutely loved the painting.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Despite her inquiries at the Lahey,\u00a0 no one knew anything about me,\u00a0 or where to contact me.\u00a0\u00a0 They do now \ud83d\ude42\u00a0\u00a0 Because my signature in the lower right corner was difficult to read (she thought it was Hoyt instead of Holt),\u00a0 her daughter,\u00a0 ever the sleuth,\u00a0 googled koi painters.\u00a0 Thankfully,\u00a0 up popped my name!<\/p>\n

Now that she found me (apparently many others had asked about the painting too \ud83d\ude41\u00a0\u00a0 I quickly sorted through old slides that could be used for a giclee print.\u00a0\u00a0 Well,\u00a0 this was one of those times that the painting slipped out the door without my having photographed it!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What to do??!!<\/p>\n

My wonderful giclee printer got special permission to photograph the painting on site (with his own security guard) and made an absolutely gorgeous reproduction –\u00a0 one fourth the size – 24×30 inches.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The client picked it up over the weekend and is thrilled with the result.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I was too!!\u00a0\u00a0 Here’s a temporary home for her new piece:<\/p>\n
