especially magenta!\u00a0\u00a0 As little girls,\u00a0 my sister and I couldn’t pronounce magenta so we decided to rename it “pretty color.”\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 From that day on whenever we wanted to use that gorgeous hue,\u00a0 we referred to it as “pretty color” –\u00a0 the best of all colors in the box to us.\u00a0\u00a0 That was a significant elevation in status among 47 other colors in the very large package.\u00a0\u00a0 The phrase sticks even now.\u00a0\u00a0 More about this soon…… posting this just under the wire for March \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Me again,\u00a0 it’s now May 14th.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fun new magenta images of a rose card, tubes of my favorite color in oil paint,\u00a0 and Elizabeth Gilbert’s wonderful book cover.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Go out and buy her book asap,\u00a0 no\u00a0 –\u00a0 run out,\u00a0 and buy it – it’s fabulous!)<\/p>\n

Back to magenta,\u00a0 my childhood “pretty color.” \u00a0\u00a0 Other names for magenta –\u00a0 shocking pink,\u00a0 hot pink,\u00a0 fuchsia.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All wonderful.\u00a0\u00a0 Wish I could wear it,\u00a0 it’s not so good with my skin color.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ll just have to use it in my paintings!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
